On July 26, 2018 the joint briefing “Investment Opportunities: New Solutions for Sustainable Development” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the KAZENERGY Association was held.
Olzhas Issabekov, the Director of the Foreign Economic Policy Department of the MFA of the RK, Asset Magauov, the Director General of the KAZENERGY Association, Arman Satimov, the Adviser to the Chairman of KAZENERGY and Talgat Karashev, the Executive Director for International Cooperation of the KAZENERGY Association, as well as the representatives of more than 60 foreign missions in the Republic Kazakhstan of participated in the event.
The meeting discussed issues of the current situation in the oil and gas and energy sectors of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the activities of the KAZENERGY Association, participation in the work of international organizations, as well as the organization of international events, including the XII KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum and the World Petroleum Council meetings (October 1-3, 2018). Addressing the audience, Asset Magauov emphasized the importance of creating flexible, and, most importantly, attractive conditions for the inflow of new investments. He told about the work carried out related to the actualization of the legislative base for subsoil users, which resulted in the new Code on Subsoil and Subsoil Use and the Tax Code.
Moreover, during the subsequent discussion, he spoke about upcoming important initiatives, which include the development of the Environmental Code and measures to stimulate and improve the oil products market.
Talgat Karashev, the Executive Director of the Association, made a report on KAZENERGY participation in the work of international organizations and holding international events. HE SAID THAT FROM OCTOBER 1 TO 3 THIS YEAR IN ASTANA THE MEETING OF THE WORLD PETROLEUM COUNCIL (HEREINAFTER – WPC) will be held the participation of the heads of delegations of the national committees of the countries-members of the WPC from the heads of the sectoral ministries, the heads of energy companies and large associations. In addition, all attendees were invited to the conference on the issue: “Investment Opportunities: New Challenges for Stable Growth”, scheduled for October 2 in the framework of the meeting of the WPC. This conference will be organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the KAZENERGY Association. Karashev noted that the international conference is designed to attract the attention of the international community and increase the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan oil and gas and energy sectors.
Arman Satimov, the Adviser to the Chairman of KAZENERGY, in his turn, proposed to develop cooperation between the Association members and trade, commercial departments of embassies and corps of international organizations, including on the basis of the Scientific and Technical Council of the KAZENERGY. He emphasized that this would promote the growth of trade turnover between the countries.
At the end of the meeting, the participants were able to directly ask questions of concern to them and discuss ways for further development of mutually beneficial partnership between the countries.
