The 28th meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council was held on November 23 this year at KAZENERGY Association under the chairmanship of Uzakbay Karabalin.
Diyar Tokmurzin, PhD student of Nazarbayev University School of Engineering, presented the report on the “Development of furnace units of boilers for the combustion of high-ash coal of Ekibastuz field’s formation № 3 and depleted/by-product coal”. He noted that the project objective is to develop measures to mitigate impact on environment.
Representatives of Pump Technology Center LLP production company presented the analysis of new technologies and use of high performance energy-saving equipment.
Along with this, representatives of Caterpillar Oil and Gas company S. Chernyshov and V. Shatrovsky told about the solutions to increase reliability and reduce energy supply cost.
Ch. Cherniyazdanov, Managing Director of Satbayev University, presented a detailed research devoted to the exploration and production of coal methane in Karaganda region. He noted that one of the key problems in this field development is ensuring the implementation of advanced technologies and reaching profitable balance of coal methane production and consumption.
In addition, Mr. Diego Gabriel Amado Garcia, external consultant of Samruk-Kazyna Invest LLP, presented the project on introduction of the “Waste to energy” system. According to him, this unique technology creates a circular economy, where the wastes become valuable again.
M. Koshumbayev, D.Eng.Sc., member of the UN International Informatization Academy, Energy department of KATU named after S.Seifullin, told about the vortex wind turbine with air flow concentrator presented at EXPO-2017. According to the author’s research, such turbines can be located on the territory of settlements. He noted that in general, Kazakhstan’s wind energy potential is approximately 1820 bn. kWh per year.
