On September 27, Nur-Sultan hosted the awarding ceremony of the winners of the creative contest “Youth-Energy-Future” and the opening ceremony of the exhibition dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Kazakh oil within Kazakhstan Energy Week.
In light of the announced Year of Youth and the 120th anniversary of Kazakh oil, KAZENERGY Association together with the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs announced a creative competition “Youth-Energy-Future” for young artists aged 14 to 18 from all regions of Kazakhstan.
Purpose of competition:
• uniting the creative younger generation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in celebration of the 120th anniversary of Kazakh oil and the Year of Youth by finding new approaches to sustainable development of the industry through creative expression.
After getting acquainted with the history of the formation and development of the oil industry in Kazakhstan, young artists from all over the country sent their best works, in which they were able to express their attitude to the following topics through art:
- Faces of the oil industry in Kazakhstan (Dzhanibek Shakelekov)
- Landscapes of oil regions (winner – Aruzhan Yerkin)
- Oil and gas of the future (winner – Adiya Abiltayeva)
During the qualifying round, the contest works of the participants impressed the organizers with their deep view and attitude to the current situation in the oil industry. Thus, this competition helped to strengthen in the minds of young people the importance of preserving the environment, as well as promoting sustainable development.
For example, Dzhanibek Shakelekov, winner in the nomination “Faces of the oil industry in Kazakhstan”, began the description of his painting with the following idea: “You know, the most difficult thing for me was not to paint a picture, but to read our history of oil ...”. In it, he passed the history of development and formation of the oil industry of Kazakhstan , through the fate of a man who made a huge contribution to the development of the oil sector of our country, having passed the hard way from a simple worker to the Honored Worker of the Kazakh SSR – Safi Utebayev. Revealing this thin thread of different emotions, Dzhanibek calls on the new generation to join forces on the path of positive changes in the country, because for this, young people are provided with all conditions, both for education and for comprehensive development.

The winners of the contest “Youth-Energy-Future” in three nominations and the winner of the special nomination “Prize from the President of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO CLUBS” – Dina Zhukenova – were invited to Nur-Sultan to receive valuable prizes and for the opportunity to become honorary participants of the KAZAKHSTAN ENERGY WEEK 2019. The ceremony opened with a welcoming speech of the President of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Bolat Uralovich Akchulakov, who later handed the winners diplomas and prizes.
