On October 11, the fifth meeting of the Advisory Council of the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) was held and was attended by L. Akhmurzina, Executive Director of KAZENERGY Association.
The purpose of the Advisory Council is to assist in the formation of the Development Strategy of KBTU as a leading scientific, educational and innovation cluster of Kazakhstan.
The agenda included KBTU plans for the 2019-2020 academic year, the University Development Strategy for 2019-2023, the following issues were also discussed:
- launch and implementation of the “Industrial Project Management and Engineering” program with the support of the Italian energy company Eni, EniProgetti and Eni Corporate University;
- opening of Honeywell automation center in KBTU;
- strengthening of cooperation with Nazarbayev Intellectual schools.
During the meeting, the diploma of Doctor Honoris Causa of the University was awarded to Adil Kurmanzhanovich Akhmetov – honored Kazakh statesman and public figure, scientist, diplomat and the first rector of KBTU.
In addition, the Kazakh-British Technical University awarded a Letter of Thanks to KAZENERGY Association for partner support and invaluable contribution.
Business cooperation connects KBTU with many major international and Kazakh oil and gas producing and processing companies. The heads of these companies formed an Advisory Committee of KBTU to provide logistical, methodological assistance to the University, as well as information and analytical support for joint activities of the University and oil and gas companies operating in Kazakhstan.
The same day, a meeting with KBTU students was held, where L. Akhmurzina presented KAZENERGY StudentDigitalFest sponsored by Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B. V. and told about the results of the Student Energy Challenge – 2019 team competition (with the support of Shell Kazakhstan), where the FEOGI team of KBTU students took the 2nd prize.
