Today, at the site of the KAZENERGY Association, the thematic meeting of the Majilis Committee for Ecology and Natural Resources Use of the Parliament of the RoK, chaired by Gleb SCHEGELSKOY, with the oil and gas and energy industries took place as part of the discussion of the draft Environmental Code of the RoK.
The meeting was attended by deputies of the Majilis: Galina BAYMAKHANOVA, Marat BOPAZOV, Kuralay KARAKEN, Mansurkhan MAKHAMBETOV, Akhmet MURADOV, Darkhan MYNBAY, Artur PLATONOV, Serik SEYDUMANOV, Gennady SHIPOVSKIKH, and Vice-Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan Akhmetzhan PRIMKULOV, Vice-Minister of Energy of RoK Asset MAGAUOV, representatives of Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, the Republican Association of mining and metallurgical enterprises, energy and oil and gas companies.
The participants of the meeting discussed the implementation of the best available technologies (BAT), including economic incentives, administrative and tax liability, waste and waste water management, and other issues.
During the meeting, the position of oil and gas companies on the implementation of environmental standards, BAT was voiced by representatives of the largest oil and gas companies in the country: Zhakyp MARABAYEV, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" on the Production, Yermek MARABAYEV, Deputy Managing Director of NCOC, Serik TYUTEBAYEV, Managing Director of Operations and Asset Management of "Samruk-Energo", Ruslan Kasymov, Chief of Environmental Protection Compliance of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B. V., Dastan KUSMANOV, Environment Adviser of Environmental Protection Department of Tengizchevroil LLP.
Yaromir RABAY, Executive Director of the Kazakhstan Kazakhstan Association of Oil-Gas and Energy Sector Organizations “KAZENERGY, noted that the Environmental Code being developed should take into account the economic, material and technical situations prevailing both in large fields and in old ones, where the extraction of raw hydrocarbons is associated with large financial and technical costs.
