The KAZENERGY Association has received for examination the draft order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amending the Order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 14, 2018 No. 514 "On Approval of Maximum Tariffs for Electric Energy".
It should be noted that 27 electricity-generating organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan have submitted applications for adjusting the maximum tariff for electricity production from June 1, 2023, in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 12-1 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Electric Power Industry".
The need for adjustment is justified by the increase in costs that are independent of electricity-generating organizations, including fuel and preparation for the upcoming autumn-winter period. On average, the expected increase in the fuel component of the electricity-generating organizations' expenses is 17%.
Additionally, the adjustment of the maximum tariff is necessary to finance the necessary volume of repair work in preparation for the heating season. Currently, repair work is only carried out within tariff-covered volumes, which does not allow achieving the goal of reducing wear and tear and accidents.
The examination of the Ministry of Energy's draft order and the preparation of the corresponding expert opinion must be carried out by KAZENERGY experts by May 18, 2023.
