We, veterans of the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan, received with deep regret the message about your decision to resign from your position of the President of the country. At the same time, we know from experience that the decisions you always made proved to be ultimately correct and the time for their adoption was precisely verified, therefore we rely on your wisdom and respect your step.
We have once again been convinced of your ability to resolutely overcome standard human feelings and firmly make fateful decisions where this is in the best interests of the motherland. Only true leaders of nations are capable of this; they can deeply analyze the internal and external environment, keenly feel the pulse of time and live with concerns about the development of future generations.
Over the years of your presidency, the country has achieved unprecedented growth in its history, but has also experienced quite a few difficult days. Especially, I remember the devastation of the first years of independence of the Republic. The economic chaos of this period could bring Kazakhstan to its knees, lead to plundering of the country's natural resources, to poverty and suffering the people of Kazakhstan. However, you were able to lead your people and country out of this collapse towards prosperity and development. The oil industry workers of Kazakhstan are proud that during these most difficult times for the country they stood shoulder to shoulder with you and did everything possible and impossible to produce oil, which then became almost the only export product, replenishing scarce budgetary resources. The resilience of oilfield workers, today's veterans, their unwavering faith in you and your ideas have become the basic factor for the prosperity and success of our country.
Let me express my deepest gratitude to you on behalf of all oilmen for paying attention and care to the development of our industry. You so lively and deeply delved into industry issues that meeting you the leaders of large foreign oil companies were amazed at your erudition in the oil and gas business, rightfully calling you “Number one Oilman” in our country. This unspoken title is recognized by the oil industry workers and will remain in our hearts forever.
We are encouraged by you words expressed in the Address that, despite the changes, you remain with us. This is very important and gives us confidence that continuity in the management of the country will be ensured and that your strategic target for Kazakhstan to join the top 30 most- developed countries in the world will be achieved.
Veterans and active workers of the oil and gas industry sincerely wish you good health, success, longevity and bright human happiness! We assure you that we will always be with you!
