The KAZENERGY Association presented its “Analytical Center” at Digital Almaty 2024

As part of the Panel session 'Big Data, Predictive Analytics, and Machine Learning: Effective Solutions,' held on February 1-3, 2024, in Almaty, during the international digital forum Digital Almaty 2024, the Director General of KAZENERGY presented an industry expert report. The report was collaboratively created by the Association with AppStream, Smart Software Solutions, and KBTU -analytical center.

Recalling that on June 17, 2023, during his speech at the second meeting of the National Kurultai 'Adiletti Kazakhstan - Adal Azamat,' the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan emphasized the necessity for high-quality analytical support for the work of the state apparatus.
“We need a powerful network of expert and analytical centers capable of working effectively and offering high-quality, in-demand intellectual products,” stated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He emphasized, 'The state is in dire need of comprehensive research and recommendations to address socially significant problems and ensure the comprehensive progress of the country.'

In response to the proposal of the Head of State, the KAZENERGY Association established the 'Analytical Center'—a specialized structure tasked with conducting independent analyses of current issues in the development of major industry projects. The center's responsibilities include formulating recommendations, especially for central government bodies and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on strategic matters concerning the oil, gas, and energy industries.

During his speech at the digital forum, KAZENERGY Director General Kenzhebek Ibrashev highlighted that the primary tool of the analytical center is its analytical platform, known as the 'Data Library,' which systematically gathers industry information. Subsequently, the dataset is curated, ensuring it is regularly reviewed for relevance and accuracy.

Utilizing collected, updated, and verified data, the Association’s analytical center facilitates the development of products with varying degrees of complexity. These include descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. Kenzhebek Ibrashev highlighted that the Association’s analytical center is establishing an effective and transparent system for collecting and comprehensively analyzing information across the entire energy industry. The aim is to become an integrated part of the national information and analytical system.

He expressed hope that high-quality and timely analytics from the KAZENERGY center will, in the short term, offer stakeholders a reliable basis for decision-making and will be sought after by government agencies, energy companies, and domestic and foreign investors. Throughout the two days of the international digital forum Digital Almaty 2024, participants had the opportunity to explore the interface and main functionality of the Analytical Platform at a specialized stand.

In 2024, the KAZENERGY Association, in collaboration with its partner, the domestic IT company AppStream, will further enhance the analytical platform. New functionality and analyzed areas will be introduced, expanding beyond the existing oil production section to include gas, oil products, ecology, and electric power.
