On October 11, 2019, Lyazzat Akhmurzina, Executive Director of KAZENERGY Association, met with 2-4-year students and graduate students of the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) and Satbayev University.
StudentDigitalFest was announced as part of the XI Youth Forum themed “Youth and challenges of time” on September 24, 2019.
During the meeting L. Akhmurzina presented to students a new competition of KAZENERGY Association – StudentDigitalFest, sponsored by Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B. V., and told about the conditions and stages of the competition.
Students also got acquainted with the activities of KAZENERGY Association aimed to support students through the implementation of educational grants and scholarships, as well as other competitions held to develop the potential of young people through innovative projects.
The purpose of the StudentDigitalFest competition is to support innovative projects of young people to develop technological solutions in the field of digitalization of the oil and gas industry.
The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students of technical specialties of universities of Kazakhstan.
Students of KBTU and Satbayev University are active participants of the KAZENERGY educational program and regular participants of the Student Energy Challenge, which has been implemented by KAZENERGY with the financial support of Shell Kazakhstan for the last 3 years.
This year, KBTU FEOGI team took the 2nd place in the final of the Student Energy Challenge with a prize fund of $ 5,000.
Satbayev University OXYGEN team, having passed all stages of the competition, reached the semifinals of the Student Energy Challenge, which was held at the XI Youth Forum themed “Youth and challenges of time” in Nur-Sultan.
As part of the KAZENERGY scholarship program, out of 705 grants allocated for the 2019-2020 academic year, 31 grants are awarded to students of KBTU and 2 – to students of Satbayev University.
At the end of the meeting, the management of universities, supporting the initiatives of the Association, expressed readiness to work together.
Currently, the registration of teams to participate in the competition is open.
