On August 5, the KAZENERGY Association, in cooperation with the Japan Association for Trade (ROTOBO), hosted the online Seminar Approaches to a Decarbonized Society in Russia and Kazakhstan.
The ROTOBO Association is an organization that promotes business cooperation between enterprises in Japan and the countries of Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Russia. ROTOBO is an association consisting of more than 200 members from various sectors of industry, trade and fund companies, banks, as well as local authorities.
ROTOBO enjoys a high reputation and has close ties with governmental organizations both in Japan and its partner countries. The primary activities of the organization involve collecting and analyzing information, regulating relations among business partners, arranging and supporting business forums, and providing consulting assistance in the development of business environment models.
As part of the seminar, General Director of the ECOJER Association Rustem Kabzhanov made a presentation at which he informed about the plans for the Republic of Kazakhstan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, the greening of the industry, and technology development.
During his speech, Mr. Kabzhanov talked in detail about the conducted policy to reduce greenhouse gases, the commitments undertaken by the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030, as well as scenarios for economic development until 2050, with due consideration of the implemented measures.
The parties involved agreed to hold such events regularly to exchange information on the implementation of national plans and strategies on the way to a decarbonized society.
The event was attended by representatives of Kazakhstan, Russian and Japanese companies and agencies.
