On May 23, Mr. Jambulat Sarsenov, World Petroleum Council Vice President for Marketing, took part in the regular meeting of the WPC Executive Committee on the Organization's transformation plans and preparations for the 24th World Petroleum Congress to be held on September 17-21 in Calgary, Canada.
During the meeting, the Executive Committee members discussed the outcomes of implementing the WPC Almaty Declaration on the transformation of the WPC's activities and the approval of the new Strategy at the WPC Council on September 16 in Calgary, on the eve of the 24th World Petroleum Congress.
The Kazakhstani delegation, led by Almasadam Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, plans to participate in the World Petroleum Congress in Canada.
It is planned to hold a special Kazakhstan Ministerial Session in Calgary, along with a presentation of the Kazakhstan’s initiative for the formation of a Global Network of Polytechnic Universities under the auspices of the WPC, as well as a series of bilateral meetings with the industry leaders.
Kazakhstan has been a full member of the WPC since June 2008, with the functions of the Kazakhstani National Committee being performed by the KAZENERGY Association.
Since its accession, the Kazakhstan National Committee has implemented several initiatives to strengthen ties among the Organization's members, with a special emphasis on hosting the VII WPC Youth Forum in Almaty in September 2022 on the topic of "Energy Transition: Dialogue of Generations."
In 2012, 2018, and 2022, the KAZENERGY Association organized the WPC Council meetings in Astana.
