On June 7, 2023, Mr. Kenzhebek Ibrashev, General Director of the KAZENERGY Association, held a meeting with a delegation of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe headed by Mr. Dario Liguti, UNECE Director for Sustainable Energy.
During the conversation Mr. Kenzhebek Ibrashev informed the guests about the main activities of KAZENERGY Association, including the representation of the interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan and member companies of the Association within the framework of several international organizations, such as WPC (World Petroleum Council), WEC (World Energy Council), IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency), as well as UNECE, and others.
In addition, Mr. Ibrashev told the UN representatives about the creation of the specialized Analytical Center under the auspices of KAZENERGY Association which is planned to be a new database in the energy sector to collect, classify, unify and analyze information from all industry sources, including government agencies, non-profit organizations and business structures.
Mr. Kenzhebek Ibrashev called the UNECE to take part in the Kazakhstan Energy Week \ XV Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY (October 3-6, 2023), and conveyed a special invitation to H.E. Mr. Dmitry Maryasin, UNECE Deputy Executive Secretary, on behalf of H.E. Mr. Almassadam Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For his part, Mr. Dario Liguti, the UNECE Director for Sustainable Energy, thanked Mr. Kenzhebek Ibrashev for the warm welcome, confirmed the UNECE intention to hold joint events within the framework of the Kazakhstan Energy Week, invited KAZENERGY experts to join the global project of the UNECE Sustainable Energy Directorate on the development of hydrogen energy, and also expressed hope for close cooperation and support in holding the III Almaty Energy Forum.
Concluding the meeting, the parties noted the positive results of joint activities, the need to continue mutually beneficial cooperation, with the expansion of the involvement of experts in jointly implemented programs and global projects.
