On January 31, 2024, a general meeting of members of the Kazakhstan Association of Oil, Gas, and Energy Complex Organizations, 'KAZENERGY,' took place in Astana. The meeting covered the presentation of KAZENERGY's achievements in 2023, the unveiling of the 2024 work plan, and discussions on the primary objectives, key areas of activity, and prospects for the Association's ongoing development.
Chairman of the Association, Magzum Mirzagaliyev, highlighted the key issues of the current situation in the industry. He underscored the significance of collaboration among Association members in contributing to the development of bills and addressing systemic challenges. Additionally, he identified primary problematic issues that necessitate collective solutions.
He also emphasized that the participation in the general meeting of members of the Association of Minister of Energy Almassadam Satkaliev, Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Yerlan Nysanbayev demonstrates the state’s systemic commitment to openness and dialogue and emphasizes the importance of the tasks being solved by KAZENERGY
The General Director of the Association, Kenzhebek Ibrashev, delivered a report on the outcomes of the Association’s activities in 2023. He presented a comprehensive overview of the ambitious work plans for 2024 and discussed initiatives for enhancing interaction with KAZENERGY members.
He highlighted that the Association successfully executed the projects outlined for 2023. Additionally, he emphasized that in the current year, KAZENERGY aims to substantially broaden and intensify its collaboration with Association members, the Government, and government bodies.
Particular focus will be on matters within the oil and gas industry, fiscal and regulatory measures demanding close attention, geological exploration, and the challenges associated with decarbonization and energy transition.
The heads of the member companies of the Association provided their comments and additions. These included Kevin Lyon, General Director of Tengizchevroil LLP; Giancarlo Ruiu, General Director of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.; Olivier Lazare, Managing Director of North Caspian Operating Company N.V.; Paul Kleijnen Commercial Director at ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Inc.; Kairat Maxutov, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Energy JSC; Nabi Aitzhanov, Chairman of the Board of KEGOC JSC; Aigul Barmenkulova, Head of the Corporate Relations Service at Shell Concern in Kazakhstan; Serikzhan Seitzhanov, President of SOUTH OIL LLP and others.
Concluding the discussions, the Chairman of the Association, Magzum Mirzagaliev, expressed gratitude to KAZENERGY members for their participation in the general meeting, and their daily and systematic support of projects and initiatives. He also underscored the importance of collaborative efforts for the benefit of the industry and the economy of Kazakhstan."
